使用圓規的記憶有點久遠，但一直都覺得很難以操控，Dr. Compass則是進行了操作方面的人體工學改良，也獲得了GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2020的獎項，主要針對以下幾點改良：

1. 採用自動出芯的自動鉛筆
隨附的自動鉛筆為自動出芯型，筆芯不用按壓十分方便，筆畫粗細能控制在一定程度內；Dr. Compass也可將自動鉛筆取下改成鉛筆使用，也就是自動鉛筆、鉛筆皆可使用。替換筆芯為0.5mm自動鉛筆。一開始使用時筆芯完全收起，要用手壓一下護芯管讓筆芯伸出（請見所附說明書圖解）



2. 手握處的形狀改良
Dr. Compass的手指握處較粗，特殊的形狀較好操作，改良一般圓規不太好轉的問題。


3. 重心改良
軸心採用金屬材質，旋轉時重心位於中心點，握位也較低好旋轉。


4. 收納
自動鉛筆尖端、金屬針頭可完全收納起，下圖左一為圓規使用狀態、左二為鉛筆逆時針旋轉即可收起、左三為完全收起：金屬針頭收納於機構內，外出或收納不用再加一個袋子或盒子來放置，十分方便。
