  1. 若筆頭一直維持朝上，有可能會寫不出來，會像是沒水一樣，這時可以試著把筆蓋蓋緊，筆握緊用力甩一下（只要一下），這時墨水有很大機會可出水。若仍出水量不足，可重覆以上動作，但一次甩一下即可，否則可能會溢墨。
  2. 若打開筆蓋後發現，筆蓋及筆頭有溢墨，這是由於筆頭一直朝下且被施力（比如運送中朝下），請擦拭乾淨後，這時若寫不出來像是沒水一樣，再試著把筆蓋蓋緊，筆握緊用力甩一下（只要一下），這時墨水有很大機會可出水。若仍出水量不足，可重覆以上動作，但一次甩一下即可，否則可能會溢墨。

B100的特色有二，一是使用水性墨水，二是使用樹脂製作筆尖 (一般都是以金屬製作)，而這兩項特色也造就它在書寫上十分輕柔、順暢的特性，宛如在雪地上寫字一般，摩擦力又恰到好處，是那種很舒服的磨擦力，這樣的手感真的會讓人上癮。
國外有些使用者甚至覺得這支筆適合用來寫英文字，因為它寫起來非常順暢，就像是把一行字滑完一樣！


不過，剛推出之時，樹脂筆尖的耐用度極差，一直收到顧客抱怨也回收不少損壞品，公司內部希望它停產的聲浪不斷，但沒想到這時候卻從歐美傳來產品很受好評的消息。於是社長下定決心想把這支筆好好改良一番，集結30幾名的人員來研究，一年內進行了100多項的改善之後，造就出這支各方面完成度都非常高的書寫工具。

當時的筆類文具以筆桿顏色作為墨水顏色的標示居多，但Pentel Ball Pen卻不這麼做，統一使用綠色作為筆桿色，反倒讓這支筆在使用者心中留下深刻印象，這也是它在設計上的另一項大膽舉動。



筆劃粗細約在0.6mm左右，雖然不適合寫小字，但是在速寫、筆記、甚至是簽名等場合都能發揮它流暢的書寫特色。
