三菱Uni工程筆有一身紅豆色（暗紅色）的筆桿，是三菱高級鉛筆才會使用的筆桿顏色。工程筆的書寫被認為較為像鉛筆而不是自動鉛筆，因其筆芯和鉛筆一樣粗為2mm，因此書寫感算是相當接近鉛筆。而且削的時侯就只要削尖筆芯就好，算是一種相當環保的書寫工具。

歐系與三菱Uni工程筆最大的不同在於筆芯裝填方式，三菱Uni工程筆採用與自動鉛筆同樣的裝填法，也就是打開筆蓋從筆尾處裝入筆芯。若是搭配三菱的Uni 2mm 工程筆芯還可以防止按壓過多而整根筆芯掉落地面，這是一個相當用心的設計！

整體而言有著日系品牌的水準，但它的最大特色應該就是價位平實。不論是作為工程筆或是日常書寫用途，都是頗具CP值的好選擇。

筆尾按壓處皆無磨芯器、需另外購買，請注意。

HB為筆蓋無寫字、其它濃度等等都是筆蓋有寫上4H等等字樣，方便做標示。搭載鉛筆的三菱工程筆皆為紅豆色外觀，但唯獨紅色筆芯的工程筆採用紅色外觀，採用標準規格的2mm紅色工程筆芯。
